I offer demonstrations and workshops in Roman pottery techniques from Samian ware to coarse wares, from tiny indented cups to huge amphora, from wheel thrown mortaria to moulded oil lamps. The making techniques I employ and equipment I use are, as far as possible, the same as those used by the original Roman potters. I work closely with Archaeologists and my pots are based on actual excavated examples. I make every effort to emulate the clay body, surface finishes, tool marks and firing conditions of the originals.
