I offer demonstrations and workshops in Roman pottery techniques from Samian ware to coarse wares, from tiny indented cups to huge amphora, from wheel thrown mortaria to moulded oil lamps.  The making techniques I employ and equipment I use are, as far as possible, the same as those used by the original Roman potters.  I work closely with Archaeologists and my pots are based on actual excavated examples.  I make every effort to emulate the clay body, surface finishes, tool marks and firing conditions of the originals.

I offer a wide variety of workshops, talks and demonstrations and the following are just a few of the possibilities:
  • Lectures, Demonstrations and Workshops for all ages
  • Wheel thrown pottery and potter's wheel throwing demonstrations
  • Mould made Roman lamps and votive figures
  • Samian ware wheel moulded pots
  • Hand formed incense burners, tiles and bricks
  • Objects for Handling Collections
  • Museum displays
  • Reproductions of Roman Pottery equipment
  • Kiln Reconstructions & Firings
  • Site Specific Commissions
  • Experimental Archaeology
  • On-Site Consultancy
  • Pottery Workshop and Kiln Models
  • Interpretation
  • Ceramics for Re-enactment and Living History
